Internal Medicine

An Overview of Internal Medicine from Memorial Town and Country Animal Clinic

It is important for every pet to have access to veterinary services from a trained veterinarian. This is exactly what we provide. While we handle preventative care as well, one of the focuses of what we do is internal medicine. For those who might not know, internal medicine refers to the general medical care that we provide. This means acute care involving pets who might have an injury or illness. At Memorial Town and Country Animal Clinic, there are a few pet diseases that we see on a regular basis. Look at some of the most common pet conditions that we treat below.

Common Pet Conditions

Nausea and Vomiting: This is one of the most common reasons why people bring their pets to see us. Some of the most common reasons why a pet might be vomiting include a toxic ingestion, a GI bug, a foreign body or even stress.

Skin Concerns: Skin concerns involving pets can be serious. Sometimes, these are not noticed right away because pets have fur that covers up their skin concerns. Sometimes, it is an infection. Other times, it might be a skin allergy. Regardless of the cause, we have the tools necessary to handle this issue.

Seizures: One of the most serious conditions that we treat regularly involves seizures. Seizures take place when the neurons in the brain start to fire out of control. This can lead to shaking and tremors that are worrying to pet owners. We will stop any seizures that are taking place and figure out why they are happening.

These are only a few of the most common internal medicine conditions that we treat. We would be happy to help your pet as well.
