Health Certificates

Travel and wellness documentation to keep your pet safe and compliant.

Whether you are traveling within the United States or internationally with a pet, we know it can be a stressful time for everyone involved. The regulations, medical requirements and documentation for international pet travel can be quite complicated and often are time-sensitive.  Each country has different requirements that may also require certain vaccines and even a microchip, so it's important to fully understand what you'll need for travel, especially for international travel.

If you will be traveling with your pet, give us a call, and we can help set up an initial consultation appointment and help you get started on the paperwork, as well as help understand any costs that may be associated with this process.

International Health Certificate Process

We recommend beginning the process at least six months before your trip. Some countries require specific tests — such as the FAVN rabies titer — which can take up to a month for results. You’ll also need to confirm both your airline’s rules and your destination country’s requirements.

Our Role

Most of the doctors at MTCAC are accredited by the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to complete international health certificates for pets.

Please note: fees for vaccinations, microchip implantation, and other medical treatments or tests are separate from the exam and certificate fee.
